17 Mar An update regarding Coronavirus
Due to the World Health Organisation’s recent advice concerning COVID-19 Coronavirus, the Veteran Mentors will be taking appropriate steps to ensure the health and safety of all the participants and staff joining us on our upcoming programs.
These measures will help prevent any future spread and reassure families that all possible measures are being taken because at Veteran Mentors, we believe in being proactive rather than reactive.
The measures we’ve put in place are;
All participants and staff will need to have their temperature taken before departure on the day of the program. If the participant has a fever (of 37.5 degrees or greater) or flu-like symptoms, they will need to stay home and will be transferred to the following program in 3 months.
All participants will have their temperature checked as soon as they arrive on location and if they have a fever (of 37.5 degrees or greater), will be distanced from the group immediately and sent home on the next available flight, the cost of which will be funded by the Veteran Mentors.
As always on our Veteran Mentor programs, sterilisation, hygiene and cleanliness are paramount. These principles are instilled in all military personal and are taken very seriously on camp to help prevent ill health. All participants will wash their hands regularly and will shower every day. We do encourage you to send a small, individually-purposed hand sanitiser with your child should you wish them to take further measures.
The information is here to reassure you and not intended to scare; we simply want you to know that Veteran Mentors is taking every possible precaution in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all participants and staff.
Sincerely,
The Veteran Mentors Team
